I got paid by Inbox Dollars after threatening them - You should too!

As many readers are well aware, Inbox Dollars is a shopping portal that we somewhat regret ever learning about, thought if you get paid you don't mind as much.  They offered 5% cashback on eBay Purchases for a time.  I loaded up for a while.  5% on eBay purchases!  Allright!

The only problem was that weeks went by and you never got any confirmation that they were going to pay you or that the purchases were tracking.

They told us 30-45 days.  I waited.  Nothing.  I waited a little longer.  Nothing.  So I did what many did and I chatted with them.

Chatting with them you find out that the chat person can't really help you.  It seems to me that Inbox Dollars has one long list of transactions that they got paid from eBay for and have no way to parse out which transactions belong to which person.  This is conjecture but I think it is correct.

I literally had to go through every single eBay purchase with the person on chat.  Which name, email address, how much money spent and the percentage I was expecting from them.

For example:  Oren, orensmoneyaver@gmail.com, 5%, 9/30/2015 $379.99

After I went through all of my purchases, I was told to wait and they would get back to me.  I was told 1-2 business days and they would get back to me.

I was then sent this email (bolding my own):

Dear Member,
Thank you for your inquiry regarding your eBay purchase(s). In order to assist you further we are requesting the eBay purchase receipt(s) you received from the eBay Seller at the time purchase.
This proof of purchase must be an eBay receipt and must include the following:
• Item number & product description purchased
• Purchase date
• Purchase price
• Payment Type (Charge Card, BillPay, PayPal, ProPay, Skrill)
Please note that purchases made with eBay Gift Cards, coupons or e-gift certificates are not applicable for form of payment method and not eligible for crediting.
Please forward your purchase/receipts along with confirmation of shipment receipt emails to offers@inboxdollars.com and we will review further.
Sincerely,
Jessica

So they don't want to pay for anything paid for with eBay Gift cards.  Bunch of crock since they never mentioned anything about it.  Once again, I think they only see the purchase price (if they have anything at all) which often doesn't reflect the part of the transaction that was paid for with gift cards.  Whatever, I'll take what I can get at this point.

I then literally went back and forwarded all of my eBay Order and Shipped and shipped emails or the offers@inboxdollars.com email address.

It came along with a nasty gram from me that said that I have been unimpressed with the company and that I would go to the Better Business Bureau and Attorney General about the company if they tried to not pay their obligations.  There were some other things in there as well that were not so nice.

One day later:

2 more days later:

I'm pretty sure I was credited even for purchases I made with gift cards since I told them the full amount of my purchase price and I got exactly what I asked for.  Not sure if they even confirmed anything.  They might want the problem to just go away.  Either way, please make sure you get paid too.  Let me know if they give you problems.  Leave a comment.

Check out Chuck's post over on DoC on the same topic.  Well worth a read as always (especially the tread carefully at the end)

My account was shut down as I had "accidentally" referred my wife ignoring details of T&C. After going back and forth several times via email the agreed to reinstate my account. I started the process of getting reimbursed yesterday we will see how it goes but forwarded them details of every transaction.
I have received 2 payments from ID. For the first one, I had to go through the hoops and had to give them transaction data (not the email confirmation like Oren had to). I think apart from 1 or 2 purchase of giftcards, they gave me everything. It is possible that I might have used some other portal and havent had the chance to look at it.

THen, a few weeks ago, I received another unsoliicted confirmation of eBay cashback. I was pleasently surprised and cashed out ASAP. Now end of these spam emails.

Same thing here. The second was unsolicited.
I filed a BBB complaint and ignored their emails for all of the ebay info they wanted. They eventually credited my account with all of my ebay purchases including stuff paid for with gift cards.
After complaining, I was credited with all my cash back. I requested a payout and then a few days later I received the automatic cashback from those same transactions. I cashed out again. I'll report back when I receive them. Crossing my fingers for a double payment!
Same experience here. I didn't forward any of the transactions as they requested though, I just randomly got an email saying I was finally paid
The question is, do they get paid when gift cards are used or not? Most portals seem to pay out with gift cards... thus those portals are getting paid. I can't imagine a brand new portal has a markedly different arrangement. Not sure why this was so hard for them. You'd think with an offer like that they were trying to gain customers, not lose them.

Oh and aren't you going to have to pay income tax? I hear they issue W2/1099
Don't party just yet. Not until you actually get the money out. I did the same thing then requested payment. It never came. I re-logged into the website to see it re-post the amount I earned. I tried to request the payment again to find out that my account was deactivated(not by me). I tried to re-activate it and no cigar, I'll be complaining again and filing a complain with the BBB this time.

TLDR: you probably won't be receiving your checks anytime soon.

Holy crap. I just found out that if you unsubscribe from their e-mails while you are processing a payment the payment gets cancelled! That's why many of you may be seeing it post twice. The first payment cancels and goes back onto your account. If you read the bottom it says you have to stay "activated" until the payment is processed. Otherwise the payment won't process. Takes like 2 weeks.
I don't remember unsubscribing after asking for payout. I got an email today saying the check was mailed out, which didn't happen after I requested the first payout. I'll report back when/if I get the check.
Yeah, it's a bit on an insane process and they only owed me about $100 so take it for what it's worth. I complained via chat several times, I gave them all my transaction dates and amounts, I did use Gift Cards, etc.

They eventually approved me, put the money in the account and I requested a check. You MUST keep clicking the emails while they process your check or it will NOT send. They're difficult about everything.

That said, after 2 months of waiting, fighting for the credits, and clicking an ungodly amount of emails about a week ago I did get a check.

So, push on them and with any luck you should get paid. Or maybe I'm just the one they paid to give everyone hope.
Finally got around to sending them an email about all my invoices from 9/23 yesterday. I just sent them the ebay receipt with my account into in the request, and only asked them to pay for the amounts not paid for with ebay cards. Got a notice last night that they'd paid everything I completed, including purchases paid fully and partially with ebay cards. They made me whole 100%. Requested a check and plan to shut down. The $3 fee for processing payments didn't sit well. Ugh.
Just received my check in the mail for double what I should have! I think it's was worth my time. Thanks inbox dollars!
Very interesting, I got the same email from them on Dec 3, except that mine did not include the paragraph referring to eBay gift cards. I got paid for 9 of the 10 eBay transactions I provided them.
I Regreted joining Inboxdollars. My account was terminated while i was about claiming my pay. It was the worst experience ever. I wish I read this article earlier: https://amazingprofitsonline.com/is-inboxdollars-...

Thanks for your article.
