iPad Mini 2 16GB Space Gray - $200 at Walmart - Limit of 1

HT - DS via Email

Walmart is selling the iPad Mini 2 16GB Space Gray for $200.  Unfortunately there is a limit of 1.

The same item costs about $260 on Amazon.  That's about $240 after fees.  Take away shipping and add taxes and you should be able to make about $20 or about 10%.

Use Discover Deals for 5% cashback with your Discover card which may get doubled to 10% in 13 months if you are enrolled in the Discover Double Cashback promotion.

If you don't have a Discover Card, you can use my referral link to earn a $50 signup bonus (doubled after the 13th statement) after your first purchase.

Oh and you might be able to get a price match at Best Buy or Staples in store and pay with Apple Pay for up to 22% cashback.  That's pretty awesome!

Sam's Club Membership Groupon - $25 or $45

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site: Groupon, Simply Best Coupons

HT - Frequent Miler Quick Deals

I am a Sam's Club member and I have used it heavily in my reselling.  I can't always post what I am buying since the ranks aren't the best but if you poke around you might find something to buy too.  The "Shocking Values" items are sometimes good.

As recently as last week I bought items to resell from Sam's Club so I value my membership

Best Buy on eBay and BestBuy.com Purchase - In Store Pickup Only but a Nice Sale

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site:  eBay, Amazon, Discover

Best Buy is selling a Keurig Stainless steel mug for $11.99.  It is available for in store pickup only.

It is available both on eBay and on Best Buy's website.   It is a solid 6,500 in Home and Kitchen in Amazon and selling for about $24.  If it was available for shipping online I wouldn't post it since there would be too much competition, but this should work since not many people will be able to buy.

Fees will get it down to about $17.50 before shipping.

You know what to do for eBay deals and for Best Buy use Discover Deals for 5% cashback with your Discover card or use Apple Pay with Discover in Store if they let you for an additional 22% cashback! Insanity!

If you don't have a Discover Card, you can use my referral link to earn a $50 signup bonus (doubled after the 13th statement) after your first purchase.

Foscam Wireless Security Camera on Sale on eBay - 4 x $13 (20%) Reselling Moneymaker

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site:  eBay, Amazon
HT:  GGupta

Please be aware that we have run into some eBay troubles recently, see here and here.

eBay is selling the Foscam FI9821P V2 security camera for $55 with a $5 discount for every 2 you buy, making your price $52.50 if you buy 4. Limit of 5

The ranking is great - #43 in Camera and Photo, that's amazing!

Best Buy In Store Purchase - Check to See if it is Available Before You Go

Best Buy has a clearance sale on a very good selling Microsoft Keyboard.  In fact it is #1 in its category in Amazon.

It costs $35 at Best Buy and $55 on Amazon.   After fees your takehome is $42 minus shipping, which should be very cheap since it is a smaller item.

It is a very nice sale if you can find any.  The problem is that it isn't available online and there none available within 250 miles of me.  Check online to see if any are available near you before you waste your time in store.

Use Apple Pay with Discover in Store for an additional 22% cashback! Insanity!

If you don't have a Discover Card, you can use my referral link to earn a $50 signup bonus (doubled after the 13th statement) after your first purchase.

Amazon Price History Tools - Keepa vs. Camelizer

As part of my evaluation of whether something is a good reselling option, I look at a few different variables before I make the plunge.

Included in that is profit per unit, profit margin, number of units I can purchase, sales rank, number of sellers and/or FBA sellers, review ratings, number and recency of reviews and price history.

Just for example, I would rather buy 2 MacBooks, make $50 on each on them, earn 1,500 points and a portal bonus, be able to sell it quickly than buy 10 toys in a store that I will net $1 on each, even if my profit margin is 50%.  Profit margin is important, but you can't pay grocery bills in 50% margins.  (Even better is to do both without it taking too much time!).

Today, I want to talk about two price history tools that I regularly use: Keepa and Camelizer

More eBay Bad News - Portal Clawbacks and Changing Terms for Portals

Yesterday we learned that eBay is starting to crack down on accounts who buy lots of Daily Deals purchases.

In that post people started commenting that they were noticing some clawbacks from various shopping portals (mostly Top Cashback) for eBay purchases back in September.

I checked yesterday and I didn't see any clawbacks, but when I checked today, I did have one clawback which is annoying since it was an expensive purchase but it isn't the end of the world.  There are some reports of as much as $200 in clawbacks.

eBay Sends Out Site Violation Policies (MC999) - Restricts Daily Deals Purchases

So, let's try a new post tonight...  Thank you for everyone who corrected the previous one so quickly.  Hopefully I was the only one who mistakenly bought the Express gift cards. Anyone looking to buy Express gift cards? No? Oh well.

Either way, eBay sent out emails to many users today saying that they have violated the eBay policy:

The gist of the email is that they don't want you buying items exclusively from eBay Daily Deals since they say that there is a "cost factor associated with them."  They want people who will also buy other items as well.

They also mention that this is primarily associated with buying items to resell (I would never do that).

I can't say I totally understand it? Is eBay subsidizing the Daily Deals?  If not, why would they care?  Doesn't really matter since they do care.

What's the possible penalty?

Purchases being cancelled and restrictions of buying privileges.

I am most worried about losing my eBay Bucks if my account is restricted.  It points to the fact that deals should really make sense without eBay Bucks/Portals so that if something goes wrong, you aren't in for a big loss.

What to do Going Forward?

My recommendation is certainly to only use one eBay account a time, even if the other account is in someone else's name.  Once you are finished with your max in eBay Bucks in one account, move onto the next one.  Will that stop a ban from coming?  I don't know.  Maybe not.  The reason I suggest this is that I got the email on the account which I don't do my main purchasing from.  I used to then switch to the second account to double up.  The second account got the email.  Maybe it is only if you violate this policy?

Try to mix in some non eBay Daily Deals purchases in there as well.

Anybody have experience with this before?  Please hit the comments and let me know if you used multiple accounts for one purchase and got the email or if you got the email with just one account.

eBay Gift Cards 5% off from Target

HT - Danny Deal Guru via Slickdeals

Target is selling eBay Gift Cards online for 5% off.  A $100 gift card is $95.  The same with the lower denomination cards.

Use your Target RedCard for an additional 5% off so it is close to a full 10% off.  This is just about as good as it gets for eBay gift cards without fuel points.

Additional 6% off All Gift Cards from CardCash + 1% Shopping Portal

HT - Dan's Deals

Today you can save an additional 6% off already discounted gift cards from CardCash.  Use Promo code 6YEARS6OFF

I bought quite a few gift cards from Bed Bath and Beyond for 14.5% off!  This is just one order ;)

Shop at Home 3x Earnings at eBay, Staples, Sears and Walmart and More!

HT - Miles Whip on Doctor of Credit

Shop at Home is offering 3x portal points on a few merchants today in honor of their birthday.

You can take a look at their full list here, but the most interesting to me is eBay (3%), Sears (15%), Walmart (6% - eh, can get Discover Deals at 5% and possibly doubled), Staples (6%).

You also earn 50 gold points which are worth $0.50 towards a Walmart gift card for every transaction.

iPad Mini 4 (Newest Model) 64GB on Sale on eBay - Maybe a Great Reselling Deal

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site:  eBay, Amazon, Shop at Home,

Update: As pointed out by a reader, these iPads have a Canadian model number.  I confirmed with Amazon via chat that they can be listed under American model number listing.  This is something to be aware of.  I am still buying :)

Our first reselling deal on the new generation of iPad minis!

eBay is selling a iPad mini 4 64GB for $460. Limit of 2.

The ranking is great

Microsoft Surface 2 64GB on Sale on eBay - No Brainer without eBay Bucks - $35 x 5 Reselling Moneymaker!

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site:  eBay, Amazon, Shop at Home,

Update: Reader JZ points out that the Surface Pro 4 is coming out next week which may affect the resale value here.  This is already an older model so I am not too worried and it isn't in the Pro line, but this is something to be aware of.

eBay is selling a Microsoft Surface 2 64GB for $300. Limit of 5.

The ranking is great

Samsung TV on Sale on eBay - $4ebay0 x 5 Reselling MoneyMaker - Stack with 5x eBay Bucks and 5x Aeroplan

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site:  eBay, Amazon, Shop at Home,

eBay is selling a 55" Samsung TV UN55J6300 for $699. Limit of 5.  There are about 35 left.

In general, I don't like selling TVs since they are big so a bit of pain, but that's a personal decision.  Keep in mind that Samsung products usually cannot be sold as new on Amazon and this is no exception.  I won't be buying this because there is tax in my state and I won't have my family accept 5 large TVs for me.

The ranking is good so it will probably sell decently quick.

Aeroplan Shopping Portal is 5x Miles for eBay Purchases!

Update: Readers are pointing out that Aeroplan takes you to ebay.ca  You will not earn eBay Bucks if you do this!

I always check cashbackmonitor.com before a shopping purchase.  I learned today that this isn't always enough.  Trevor at Tagging Miles points out that the Aeroplan shopping portal is offering 5x miles for purchases from eBay!  He has  some good information about Aeroplan miles as well.

That's much better to me than 2% cashback.  It's another tool to put in our collective toolbox.  If I ever forget about it, please remind me in the comments.

It can take up to 6-8 weeks before the miles post and there is a maximum of 4,000 miles awarded per transaction.  Anything over $800 will still only earn 4,000 miles.

The iPads are back in stock in Gold so you can use your newly minted Aeroplan portal to earn a ton of miles!

iPad Air 2 64GB on Sale on eBay - Stack with 5x eBay Bucks!

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site:  eBay, Amazon, Shop at Home,

eBay is selling a iPad Air 2 64GB for $490. Limit of 2.

This was on sale yesterday but I didn't think it was worthwhile, now with increased eBay Bucks, it is definitely worthwhile if you are targeted.

Remember that you don't start earning increased eBay Bucks until 8am PT or 11am ET

The ranking is fantastic and they sell really quickly!

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site:  eBay, Amazon, Shop at Home, eBates

eBay is selling a MacBook MJVE2LL/A for $800. Limit of 2.  About 440 available.

The ranking is fantastic and there aren't too many sellers left at this point.

Toshiba Tablet on Sale on eBay - $20 x 10 MoneyMaker

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site:  eBay, Amazon, Shop at Home

Update: Now limited to 5 per person, better in terms of competition, worse for your overall profit.

eBay is selling a Toshiba Tablet for $150.  You will save $30 when you buy 5 or more.  It costs $1,469 for 10 or $147 per tablet.  Your price per unit will be even lower if you buy 5 at a time.

There are about 550 left so there shouldn't be too big of a rush to buy.

They sell for $188 on Amazon and has a solid ranking:

If you can sell for $188, your takehome is $171 before shipping which should be no more than $1 per item if you are sending 10 in one shipment.

That's $23 on the sale alone.  You can buy 10 of them so you can make $230 on the sale price alone!

The New Face of Discover Deals Email "Confirmation"... Possibly More Scrutiny?

Discover Deals has been sending out new email "confirmations" lately.

Instead of an email that just confirms your purchase, the email looks like this:

I have received a few like this and I know of one other person who also received this type of email.

I don't completely know what this means but it could mean that Discover is starting to look at transactions more carefully now that they are on the hook for so much money or it could mean nothing. Not sure.

It's always a good idea to make sure you are doing things as legit as possible when you use shopping portals so that they can't have any excuse to take away the money.  We'll see how this develops.

LG Smartwatch on Sale on eBay - $25 x 5 Reselling MoneyMaker

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site:  eBay, Top Cashback, Amazon

eBay has the LG Smartwatch in Gold  for $215.  Limit of 5 per person.

Rank is about 10,000 in cell phone and accessories, but only 78 in smartwatches.  I would normally not post about it since it is a slower seller except that there are only 30 left so competition for a slower sell can't get too fierce.

The Gold Version has only one FBA seller at $284, unfortunately that seller is Amazon.  I would assume you will be able to sell for $270-$275 without a problem and $284 with a match of Amazon if you are more patient.

Inbox Dollars No Longer Paying for eBay

HT - Miles to Memories

Inbox Dollar no longer has eBay as a shopping partner.  No one has been paid 5% yet from them, but at least we got a 5% match from Top Cashback.

Chuck at Doctor of Credit reports that by the 19th we may see some 5% payments.  I hope this will be the case.

More details to follow as they come in.

18 Rolls of Packing Tape for $12.99 on eBay - Reselling Moneymaker - Just Kidding!

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site:  eBay

I don't know about you guys, but I go through a lot of packing tape (my wife makes fun of how much tape I use - can never be too careful, right?).

Image result for too much tape on boxes

eBay is selling 18 Rolls of Packing Tape for $12.99.  Limit of 20.  There are about 100 left.  20 is a little excessive for me but I might buy one. I just bought 2 6 packs on Amazon - argh!

It looks like you will not earn eBay Bucks for this purchase.

Use the eBay Shopping Portal of your choice.

iPads 15% off at Staples - Use up your 15% off Gift Cards

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site: Amazon, Staples

HT - GGupta

Update: You can do the same thing if you buy Staples gift cards now. They are available for 8% off from Gift Card Mart and you will earn 2% cashback from your credit card.  It's not as good as 15% off, but it is pretty decent.  HT - GGupta

You can only use 5 gift cards at time so you might need to order one at time.  I would personally probably not order more than 2 due to Staples possibly banning due to excessive apple purchases.

Lately there have been a few Staples 15% off gift cards sales on eBay which are no longer going.  Now is a decent time to start thinking about using them on iPads at Staples which are 15% off.  You won't make much if you don't have the gift cards but you will be sitting pretty with them.

Here are few examples:

iPad Air 2 16GB - $75 off - $424 before tax
iPad Air 2 64GB - $90 off - $509 before tax

Ordered an iPad from Jet.com and it came Refurbished? Return it for Free

The other day I published a deal on iPads from Jet.com.  Reports started coming in that the seller (Newegg) was sending refurbished iPads instead of new ones which obviously affects resale value significantly.  Yesterday I got my iPads and they came refurbished too.

Nowhere in the description did it say that it would be refurbished.  Live and learn.

Either way, it is an easy fix.  Just log in to your account, go to your order history and Click on "Return Items"

As the reason you can either choose "Item Not as Described" or "Wrong Item Sent" and you will receive a free FedEx return shipping label in your inbox.  Mine came within a few minutes.

This will work even if you waived free return shipping for the extra discount.

iPads on Sale at Sears - Not too Many Left - Depends which one You Get!

HT - @YossieWeinberg

This is a little bit of weird listing but it seems to show that it is new and the price might be really good.  It is under the new section but one reader points out that this seller usually sells refurbished stuff so it might be listed incorrectly.  Buyer beware here.

iPad 2 16GB (Old Version) from Sears.  It doesn't say exactly what you will be getting, but you either get MC769LL/A or MC954LL/A for $175.  There are about 30 left so go straight with 10% from Discover Deals and Discover card if you want it.

The MC954LL/A sells for mid $300's on Amazon and is ranked 2,750 in computers so a little bit slow, but the profit is there if you are patient.

The MC769LL/A sells for about $220 or so (possibly more with little competition) and is ranked 191 in computers.  That's really a breakeven deal.

Ready to play Let's make a Deal?  Who knows which one you will get.
